Yoga Classes

YogaMorphic offers you a focused opportunity to develop your Yoga practice in live Zoom classes. Please click here to view timetables and prices.

Drop in students are welcome, but commitment to the practice will make desirable changes long-lasting. Classes are designed as termly programmes to offer you the opportunity to learn more about your body and how to adapt to make the practice your own. Subscribe to my monthly newsletter for thoughts on assessing and considering your practice.

Yoga Fundamentals

Yoga Fundamentals is a slower programme ideal for beginners as well as more advanced practitioners. Whether you wish to improve your flexibility, want to revisit and reconnect with the core principles of a Yoga practice, or simply try Yoga for the first time this class is for you.

Focussing on principles of structural and energetic alignment, we explore the understanding of asana from an experiential perspective – as opposed to intellectual. If you are intrigued but feel a little intimidated by yoga, this class is a safe and friendly environment to start from.

Vinyasa

The Vinyasa programme is for the keen practitioner. Designed to support you in developing a strong, fluid yoga practice, it incorporates challenging postures and deeper energetic work. There is plenty of guidance and support to safely and confidently deepen your yoga practice.

This is an invigorating yet nourishing class that engages your whole body and mind with inventive, insightful moves. As in all YogaMorphic classes, you will receive advice on adjustments to support your learning and practice.

A Puglian retreat

Yoga retreat 22-29 June 2019, Puglia

“Breath is the foundation of the internal form of the practice.  The waves of the breath start the process of alignment, which is merely the intelligence waking up in the centre of the body.”   Richard Freeman

This week-long retreat was held at a private villa in Salento; over seven nights accommodation and six glorious days of yoga and bodywork.

All meals were made with love by a local chef, creating vegetarian dishes inspired by Ottolenghij and with a Puglian twist.

We had time to swim in the full-sized pool and even play tennis and croquet and could choose whether to relax on the huge roof terrace or by the pool.

Candlelit Restorative Yoga

Christmas Candlelit Restorative Yoga

Nature teaches us that winter is the time of the year to preserve energy. Yet, embrace it or escape it, Christmas places huge demands upon us. This Candlelit Restorative Yoga session will see the blending of Yin & Restorative Yoga postures to help you experience a beautiful sense of calm for deeply healing relaxation.

Supporting the physical body with a wide range of props we will create a suitable environment for the mental and emotional layers to unwind. Thoughts will settle and rejuvenation will take the place leaving you feeling nourished, rested and recharged. What a great Christmas gift to give yourself and your loved ones!

Sunday 10 December, 7-9pm, St John’s Methodist Church, Argyle Road, Whitstable

Please bring a mat, a small towel, a large towel, a blanket and a cushion. Other props will be provided for your absolute comfort.

Booking is essential as places are limited. £20pp non refundable or £35 for two booking together – online payment direct to YogaMorphic is available here via PayPal.

Be well.

Focus: Yoga for Men

Yoga was men’s domain until not long ago. Only very recently did marketing turn this powerful methodology into a lycra masquerade of willowy young females. When looking at Krisnamacharya, Iyengar or Patabhi Jois practicing Yoga we are presented with a genderless expression of grace and power.

Men’s return to Yoga at a time when the concept of masculinity is precarious at its best, and toxic at its worse, could be seen as the transcendence of false gender norms. Rooted into a strong sense of purpose and fuelled by principles of compassion and selflessness, Yoga brings many benefits to men. Enhanced flexibility, improved athletic performance, increased physical and mental power, better concentration are just a few. Adding a new dimension to wellbeing, Yoga complements all other forms of physical activity and restores men to a place of effortless identity.

Iyengar
Iyengar: The growth of Yoga for men in an incremental part of the growth of Yoga worldwide. Be part of it.

YogaMorphic’s Wednesday Yoga classes are specifically designed for men. With a view to increase strength and flexibility, breathwork is incorporated into postures for concentration and focus. Working the body and calming the mind these practices induce a profound sense of relaxation and lower stress.

The new term starts on Wednesday 1st November and is suitable for all levels. See website for further details.

Shape your body, shape your mind
